The Most Interesting Man in the World
Portrayed by actor Jonathan Goldsmith, The Most Interesting Man in the World wasn't just a mascot—he was a lifestyle aspiration.

Brief
Dos Equis needed to differentiate itself in a crowded imported beer market. The challenge was to move beyond traditional "party" beer advertising and create a character who embodied a sophisticated, adventurous lifestyle.
Idea
Through black-and-white montages of impossible feats (freeing an angry bear, bench-pressing two women in chairs, stitching his own shoulder while flirting with nurses) juxtaposed with the calm, collected presence of Goldsmith in a modern social setting, the campaign created a legend.
Work
The campaign launched in 2006 and ran until 2018, with a revival announced in January 2026. The campaign produced dozens of commercials, each ending with the signature sign-off.
Impact
Between 2006 and 2010, Dos Equis sales increased annually in the United States. In Canada, sales tripled in 2008. Perhaps most impressively, Dos Equis sales grew by 22% at a time when sales of other imported beers fell 4% in the U.S. The character transcended advertising to become a pop culture icon, referenced on Saturday Night Live and even cited by a young fan who told Goldsmith he wanted to be "The Most Interesting Man in the World" when he grew up.
